A recent posting in the sweetspot.ca listed pottery as one of the buy second hand finds (click here to read the story) and I couldn't agree more.
I have bought a lot of pottery over the years and the nesting bowls (above) are one example. These were bought at our first auction. We had already bought a ton so I passed on them. But as we were packing up to leave, I couldn't stop staring at them on the table. Unpurchased. I had to have them.
I paid the auctioneer $5 and I've loved them every day since. I wish that I could tell you all about the maker Hirsh but the truth is that I don't know this maker. Were these made by a professional potter? Or just a talented hobbyist? It really doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad that I bought them.
More on our first auction later.
