One of my favorite things to look for at garage sales is vintage fabric. I love finding a few meters of a great fabric with colours and patterns that we don't see anymore. One of my all-time favorite finds was this turtle fabric. I found about 5 meters of this fabric outside Stratford, Ontario about 7 years ago. It was prestine. Clearly some woman bought it in the 50's and safely tucked it into her sewing kit where it sat probably until she died.I think it was $5.
Over the past 7 years I've used this fabric for lots of projects. Most recently I made a simple quilt for my niece. There isn't much left so I need to use it wisely.
Do you have any crafting projects with your junking finds?
