Retro Fabric

One of my favorite things to look for at garage sales is vintage fabric. I love finding a few meters of a great fabric with colours and patterns that we don't see anymore. One of my all-time favorite finds was this turtle fabric. I found about 5 meters of this fabric outside Stratford, Ontario about 7 years ago. It was prestine. Clearly some woman bought it in the 50's and safely tucked it into her sewing kit where it sat probably until she died.

I think it was $5.

Over the past 7 years I've used this fabric for lots of projects. Most recently I made a simple quilt for my niece. There isn't much left so I need to use it wisely.

Do you have any crafting projects with your junking finds?
